Govt. to purchase 20 million led bulbs
KATHMANDU: The legislature on Thursday has decided to buy 20
million LED bulbs to save 200 MW power in the nation.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers took the choice
after a proposition sent by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary
Affairs and the Finance Ministry, said Energy Minister Janardan Sharma.
An understanding which had been come to amid the meeting of
the Energy Secretaries from Nepal and India early this year made ready for the
Energy Ministry to buy the knobs from the administration organization of India.
The Energy Ministry has wanted to purchase the LED knobs
from Energy Efficiency Service Ltd under the Indian Ministry of Energy at the
sponsored cost of Rs 2 billion.
