Notorious gangster Jaswant arrested

Jun 23, 2016 - The Metropolitan Police Crime Division arrested one of the most notorious goon Purna Rai (Jaswant Gurung) from Bijulibazar, Kathmandu,

The police force had to open two shots of fire in their attempt to arrest Rai. He was charged for extortion.

"Police asked him to surrender but Rai started hitting iron rod to the police and we had to open fire", SSP Sarbendra Khanal informed. Nor Rai is going under treatment at Bir hospital.

Rai has a protracted rap sheet and has been arrested many times in the case of extortion from hotels and parking lots.
