Remnants succumbs to Kabul assault


Jun 21, 2016-Monday, June 20, was a heartbreaking day for 12 Nepalis working at a security organization in Afghanistan. A suicide bomb assault in a minibus in Afghan Capital Kabul killed lives of 12 Nepali migrant workers. Among those killed was Chandra Bahadur Rana Magar of Kavre locale.

Rana Magar was a ex Nepal Police constable. He made a narrow escape in a battle between Maoist and security forces in Sindhupalchok in 2003 where eight of his companions lost their life before his eyes. Dreading the fatal consiquences, Rana Magar chose to stop the police occupation and selected to become migrant worker to feed his families (from two marriage).

Rana Magar, who was working as a security guard at Canadian Embassy in Afghanistan, was recently in Nepal for his one-month holiday. He had come back to Afghanistan on June 29. This visit tragically turned into his last one.

"He had said that he will come back to Nepal following one-and-half year and will never return back Afganisthan again," Rana Magar's sibling Ganga told the Post. "Undoubtedly, he went however never to return again."

As indicated by Ganga, Chandra Bahadur had taken a credit of Rs 3 million to buy a one story house in Bishalnagar. "I will reimburse the credit and make this home mine with the goal that I won't need to work abroad," said stster Ganga, recalling his brothers words."
