Online media operation guideline to amend by taskforce

Jun 21, 2016-The Ministry of Information and Communications has established a three-member committee for revising the Online Media Operation Guidelines-2073. 

The committee contains the chairman of the Press Council Nepal, the president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists and a delegate from the online media. 

Minister for Information and Communications Sherdhan Rai shaped the taskforce on Tuesday quickly after the Federation drew his consideration that a portion of the focuses specified in the Guidelines conflicted with the constitutional provisions. 

Minister Rai said that it was above deliberating that the government would take any choice conflicting to the spirit of the constitution and the ramifications of the press freedom. He symbolised the dedication to update the Guideline inside two days taking into account the supposition of the related part and have it implemented. 

FNJ president Mahendra Bista asked the government not to bring any rules against the soul of the constitution and to make the online media self-controlled. RSS
