55 killed, 8 injured in lightning in Bihar, India
Jun 22, 2016-At least 55 persons were killed and 8 injured in lightning in various regions of Bihar, as the heavy monsoon rain hit the state on Tuesday.
Principal secretary of Disaster management department Vyasji confirmed about the deaths.
Vyasji said that the government would give Rs 4 lakh to the kin family of every victims.
Nalanda, Aurangabad, Rohtas and Purnea were the most badly affected area of the state.
Monsoon rain have been hitting Bihar from Tuesday night and thunderbolts are striking at regular intervals.
Four persons were killed at the various places in Aurangabad discrict on Tuesday, authorities said.
A man and his child got to be casualties of the lightning strike while they were returning home from field in Darmikala town under Tandwa police headquarters.
Under Daudnagar police headquarters, one person each got to be casualty of lightning striked in Aarai and Pansa towns.
