Saptakoshi river water level rises

Jun 21, 2016-The water level has increased in Saptakoshi River after continuous rainfall since Monday night. The water level in the river was measured at 126,830 cusec on Tuesday morning. Twenty of the 56 gates of Koshi barrage have been opened after the increase in water level. Superindent of Police Poshraj Pokharel notified that the water level has been slowly ascending in the river. Meanwhile, an overwhelmed nearby Tegra Khola in Itahari has immersed towns at east of Itahari bazaar. Nepal Police, Armed Police Force staff are attempting to contain the surge however their endeavors are being hampered by continuous rainfall.
